A Garage Story
Converting garages into
creative technical spaces
is a beautiful thing.
In addition to starting work on "TRE" we also do incredible work for a local Billionaire

In-Store Listening Stations
Pre-Internet, during the era of brick and mortar music stores, we designed and prototyped in-store music previewing/listening products.

In 2000 we sold the "Garage" based business to Real Networks as they needed "Metadata" software for their radio industry streaming strategy.

"Hero"
Ian Freed
Though hard to see, in the front is a 3 foot row documents necessary to sell your garage to a public company.
We tear down the garage, and remodel the home, creating a much larger development facility. Lesson learned: Be careful what you wish for.

Devices were manufactured and assembled at Shipper & Company in Ballard.

Prototyping Fun

Garage life was great. Four kids grew up in and around the garage, all are tech industry professionals today.

Come Into My Dream Foggy
00:00 / 05:34

On the networking side, we experienced everything from pulse dialing C-64 modems, to the thrill of an ISDN circuit. :)

Alex, the oldest ran Wildcat BBS's at an early age.

For a BBS at the radio station we used a TRS-80 running "Minibin" BBS. No hard drives, all from 5.25 floppy disks

The Games
Truth be told, underpinning our technological interests was the family love of electronic gaming.

Commodore 64
