In 2012, Jump2Go was hired by the Department of Homeland Security/FEMA and NPR Laboratories to build an FM RDS Emergency Alert system to assist hard of hearing and deaf people.

The system consisted of the creation of a custom RDS protocol and custom hardware we designed and manufactured for the participating stations. We installed the system in 25 Gulf state radio stations in 2013.  Here’s a visual of the hardware and a note from the NPR Labs Director responsible for the project:
